Social Work Intern.
When I decided to study Human Development and Family Sciences I knew I wanted to focus and dedicate my time to helping individuals, families, and the community. As I started my last semester at the University of North Texas, I began searching for an internship that would provide me with experiences working families in the community. Interfaith provided me with an opportunity that has been much more than I could have asked for. I spent the majority of my time assisting with client interviews as well as listening and talking with individuals about what they are going through. I was able to help Ernestina, the Community Outreach Director at times too, especially with media. My experiences at IFM have strengthened many of my personal and transferable skills that will accompany and support me in my future endeavors. The women here at Interfaith have such positive energy, are incredibly patient, and have been inspiring mentors. I had an unforgettable time with them this past spring!
